Auparavant établies à Domme, les religieuses de l'ordre de Notre-Dame s'installent en 1637 dans l'immeuble de la place de la Bouquerie. Cet ordre avait été fondé en 1608 par Mme de Lestonnac pour contrebalancer l'influence des protestants au moyen de l'éducation des jeunes filles. Expulsées de Sarlat au moment de la Fronde, les religieuses réintègrent leur maison après la délivrance de la ville. En 1671, les bâtiments étant devenus trop exigus, l'évêque de Sarlat prêta son château de Temniac le temps de réaliser les agrandissements nécessaires. Vendu comme bien national en 1793, l'édifice fut utilisé comme gendarmerie. L'édifice présente deux corps de logis en retour d'équerre. History
Previously established in Domme, the nuns of the order of Notre-Dame settled in 1637 in the building on the place de la Bouquerie. This order had been founded in 1608 by Mme de Lestonnac to counterbalance the influence of Protestants through the education of young girls.
