Historique
L'hôtel renferme un escalier Renaissance qui se développe dans un quadrilatère irrégulier autour d'un jour de même forme. Les volées de marches occupent trois des côtés, le quatrième est formé par un long palier donnant accès aux appartements. A ses deux extrémités, des colonnes superposées, placées au sommet des angles, reçoivent sur les chapiteaux les retombées des arcs rampants et les plate-bandes cintrées des paliers. Ces derniers sont formés de grandes dalles, et sont décorés en dessous de nervures et de caissons dont les dessins ornent le plafond. L'autre extrémité des marches et des paliers est supportée par un bandeau mouluré encastré dans les murs et reposant sur des corbeaux ornés d'écussons et de divers ornements. Les dalles qui formaient garde-corps et supportaient la main courante, ont disparu.

History
The hotel contains a Renaissance staircase which develops within an irregular quadrilateral around an opening of the same shape. The flights of steps occupy three sides, the fourth is formed by a long landing giving access to the apartments. At its two ends, superimposed columns, placed at the summit of the angles, receive on the capitals the springing of the raking arches and the curved lintels of the landings. The latter are formed of large slabs, and are decorated underneath with ribs and coffers whose designs adorn the ceiling. The other end of the steps and landings is supported by a moulded band embedded in the walls and resting on corbels ornamented with escutcheons and various ornaments. The slabs which formed the balustrade and supported the handrail, have disappeared.
