Le nom du village, associé à son église, apparaît en 1120 dans le catulaire de Tourtoirac. L'église a sans doute des origines plus anciennes, certaines sépultures découvertes remontant au Haut Moyen-Age. De l'église romane subsistent la base et une partie de l'élévation sud, ainsi que le portail. En 1859, une grande partie de la nef et ses murs se sont écroulés. La reconstruction fut réalisée dans les années suivantes.

History
The name of the village, associated with its church, appears in 1120 in the cartulary of Tourtoirac. The church doubtless has more ancient origins, certain tombs discovered dating back to the Early Middle Ages. From the Romanesque church remain the base and part of the south elevation, as well as the portal. In 1859, a large part of the nave and its walls collapsed. Reconstruction was carried out in the following years.
