Historique
De la construction primitive du 14e siècle, il ne reste que deux tours et un corps de logis, défiguré par de nombreux remaniements. La tour nord est découronnée et a été recouverte par une toiture à un niveau inférieur de celui d'origine. La tour sud a conservé son état primitif, hormis les fenêtres. C'est un bon exemple des édifices fortifiés du nord du Périgord, où les mâchicoulis étaient remplacés par quatre bretèches en saillie sur le nu du mur et formant lucarnes devant la toiture. Les courtines qui se reliaient à la tour ont disparu. A la suite d'un incendie, au début du 18e siècle (1720) , le corps de logis Est a été reconstruit dans le style de l'époque. La cour a été nivelée et surélevée. Les douves ont disparu. Des caves-celliers subsistent sous le bâtiment nord où se voient encore des embrasures de tir.

History
From the original construction of the 14th century, there remain only two towers and a main dwelling, disfigured by numerous alterations. The north tower is uncrenellated and has been covered by a roof at a lower level than the original. The south tower has retained its original state, except for the windows. It is a good example of the fortified buildings of northern Périgord, where the machicolations were replaced by four bretèches projecting from the face of the wall and forming dormers in front of the roof. The curtain walls that connected to the tower have disappeared. Following a fire, in the early 18th century (1720), the east main dwelling was rebuilt in the style of the period. The courtyard was levelled and raised. The moats have disappeared. Cellar-stores remain beneath the north building where gun embrasures can still be seen.
