L'église est l'ancienne chapelle de l'hôtel-Dieu fondé en 1669. Les travaux commencèrent en 1670. De cet hôpital subsiste aujourd'hui le sanctuaire en rotonde de la chapelle, surmonté d'un dôme, à la rencontre du bras d'une croix grecque. A cette rotonde aboutissent quatre corps de logis composés chacun d'un rez-de-chaussée voûté et d'un étage. L'un des rez-de-chaussée constitue la nef de la chapelle. Les sept autres salles communiquent aussi avec le sanctuaire par un système de volets ou de clôtures à clairevoie. Les volets étaient ouverts à l'heure des offices, permettant ainsi aux malades d'y assister. Au corps de logis situé derrière le sanctuaire sont reliés des bâtiments plus bas.

History
The church is the former chapel of the hôtel-Dieu founded in 1669. Work began in 1670. Of this hospital there remains today the rotunda sanctuary of the chapel, surmounted by a dome, at the meeting of the arm of a Greek cross. To this rotunda lead four main dwellings each composed of a vaulted ground floor and a first floor. One of the ground floors constitutes the nave of the chapel. The other seven rooms also communicate with the sanctuary by a system of shutters or open lattice closures. The shutters were opened at the time of services, thus allowing the sick to attend. To the main dwelling situated behind the sanctuary are connected lower buildings.
