History
Mentioned from the 12th century, the castle dates back to the 15th century for its oldest part. The wing to the north, with a gallery open onto the courtyard, dates from the 17th century. The whole was restored and brought up to date between 1854 and 1882. Outbuildings develop to the north around three courtyards. The park was redesigned between 1857 and 1862 by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, nurseryman from Bordeaux. The ownership of the castle (property of the State - Ministry of Culture) was transferred to the department on 1 June 2007.
