La réalisation commence en 1810, mais la plupart des fortins furent bâtis entre 1841 et 1861. History
Set of fortifications decided by Napoleon I to reinforce the system of defence of the Mediterranean coasts. Work began in 1810, but most of the forts were built between 1841 and 1861. The Mèdes battery is a rectangular building backed against the rock and defended on the sea side by a wall. Fortified entrance to the south-west. Battery of the 18th century, altered in 1811, then completed in the 1840s.
