The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Sippolanmäelle raitin tiivis pohjalaistalojen ryhmä on hyvä esimerkki Kauhavanjokilaakson varhaisesta historiallisesta asutuksesta. Kauhavanjokilaaksossa taloryhmät ovat perinteisesti jokea seuraavilla, tasangolta kohoavilla mäillä.

Sippolanmäen talonpoikaistalot ovat Hautamäki, Mikkola, Rannila, Rintala, Yli-Sippola ja Ylinen. Pihapiirit ovat vanhan kylätien varrella. Sippolanmäen pohjoisreunalla Ylisen tiiviin pihapiirin rakennuskanta on 1800-luvulta ja 1900-luvun alusta. Puolitoistakerroksinen pohjalaistalo rajaa pihapiiriä jokilaakson peltoaukean suuntaan pihapiirin jäädessä mäen puolelle. Päärakennuksen lisäksi rakennuskantaan kuuluu pihatupa vuodelta 1907, poikkeuksellisen koristeellisin ovin varustettu vilja-aitta vuodelta 1837 sekä hirsirunkoinen talousrakennusryhmä ja karjarakennus. Pihapiirin ulkopuolella on talousrakennuksia, mm. kaksi aittaa. Viereisen Yli-Sippolan päärakennus on jälleenrakennusajalta. Pihapiirissä on vanha hirsirunkoinen talousrakennusryhmä.

Hautamäki muodostaa Rannilan kanssa yhteisen, lähes suljetun pihapiirin. Hautamäkeen kuuluu kaksifooninkinen päärakennus, hirsirunkoinen talousrakennusryhmä ja otsallinen vilja-aitta. Uusi päärakennus on rakennettu vanhasta pihapiiristä hieman kauemmaksi, puuston suojaan. Rannilan päärakennus on 1800-luvulla rakennettu puolitoistakerroksinen pohjalaistalo. Pihapiiriin kuuluu hirsirunkoinen talousrakennusryhmä sekä karjarakennus.

Mikkolassa on päärakennuksen lisäksi kaksi vanhaa talousrakennusta. Rintalan päärakennus periytyy 1800-luvun lopusta tai 1900-luvun alusta, ja siihen on tehty muutoksia mm. ikkunoiden osalta 1900-luvun loppupuolella.

Sippolanmäki on osa valtakunnallisesti arvokasta Lapuan - Kauhavan Alajoki -maisema-aluetta.

The compact group of pohjalaistalo farmhouses along the village street on Sippolanmäki is a good example of early historical settlement in the Kauhavanjoki valley. In the Kauhavanjoki valley, farm groups have traditionally been located on hills rising from the plain alongside the river.

The farmhouses of Sippolanmäki are Hautamäki, Mikkola, Rannila, Rintala, Yli-Sippola and Ylinen. The farmyards are along the old village road. On the northern edge of Sippolanmäki, the buildings of the compact Ylinen farmyard date from the 19th century and the early 20th century. A one-and-a-half-storey pohjalaistalo borders the farmyard towards the field clearing of the river valley, with the farmyard lying on the hillside. In addition to the main building, the buildings include a pihatupa from 1907, an exceptionally ornately doored granary storehouse from 1837, a log-framed outbuilding group and a cattle building. Outside the farmyard are outbuildings, including two granary storehouses. The main building of the neighbouring Yli-Sippola is from the post-war reconstruction period. The farmyard also has an old log-framed outbuilding group.

Hautamäki forms a nearly enclosed farmyard shared with Rannila. Hautamäki includes a two-fooni main building, a log-framed outbuilding group and an otsallinen granary storehouse. The new main building has been built a little further from the old farmyard, in the shelter of trees. The main building of Rannila is a one-and-a-half-storey pohjalaistalo built in the 19th century. The farmyard includes a log-framed outbuilding group and a cattle building.

In addition to the main building, Mikkola has two old outbuildings.

The main building of Rintala dates from the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century, and alterations were made to it in the late 20th century, among other things to the windows.

Sippolanmäki is part of the nationally significant Lapua - Kauhava Alajoki landscape area.

Permanent settlement in Kauhava first established itself along the Kauhavajoki in the mid-16th century. In 1563 Kauhava had 4 farms, by 1571 already 22 farms, and at the turn of the 17th century about 30. Tar burning created new settlement and prosperity, and in the last decades of the 17th century 10 new farms arose in Kauhava. In the late 18th century, new settlement and population growth continued.

Kauhava originally belonged to the Kyrö parish, and until the end of the 16th century it was known by the name Kauhajoki. In 1643 Kauhava became a chapel district of the Lapua mother parish. It became a rectorate in 1859, and the municipality of Kauhava was founded in 1867.
