The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Selin poikkeuksellisesti jugendtyylinen vahtitupa vuodelta 1906 on tyyppinsä toinen tunnettu edustaja.

Yksinkertaisen vahtituvan pihapiiri paikallistien ja rautatien risteyksessä sisältää kaikki perinteiset rakennukset. Suuri hirsisauna sijaitsee aivan maantien kupeessa. Selin seisake ja vahtitupa kuuluvat Hanko-radan täydentävään rakennusvaiheeseen 1900-luvun alussa.

Hanko-Hyvinkää -rata rakennettiin 1873. Selin seisake vahtitupineen rakennettiin radan varteen täydentämään pysäkkiverkkoa. Seisake palveli mm. paikallista maidonmyyntiosuuskuntaa, jonka tuotanto oli vihtiläisittäinkin huomattava.

The exceptionally jugend-style guardhouse at Selin, dating from 1906, is the second well-known representative of its type.

The yard of the simple guardhouse, at the junction of a local road and the railway, contains all the traditional buildings. A large log sauna stands right beside the main road. The Selin stopping place and guardhouse belong to the supplementary building phase of the Hanko line in the early 20th century.

The Hanko-Hyvinkää line was built in 1873. The Selin stopping place, with its guardhouse, was built beside the line to supplement the network of halts. The stopping place served, among others, the local dairy sales cooperative, whose output was considerable even by Vihti standards.
