Kuvaus
Liikkeiden edustalle on istutettu jalopuita.
Tukon viljavarasto on 1930-luvulta.
Taajama on kasvanut 1899 valmistuneen Perniön rautatieaseman viereen.
Perniön asemanseudulta pohjoiseen Yliskylässä on radan varressa kauas avoimessa viljelysmaisemassa näkyvä korkea rapattu viljasiilo 1970-luvulta.
Historia
Turun ja Helsingin välisen rautatien Perniön asema sijoitettiin kirkonkylää pohjoisemmaksi Paarskylään, osin Kosken tehtaan ja Paarskylän kartanon omistajan toiveesta. Liikenteelle rata avautui 1899. Asemanseudulle kehittyi taajama 1890-luvun lopulta lähtien ja vauraan maatalousseudun viljavarastot rakennettiin aseman tienoolle. Asemanseudun vanhin asutus sijoittui radan varteen aseman pohjoispuolelle.
Perniönjoen ja aseman välille, vanhalle Paarskylän kylätontille, rakentui liikekeskus 1950-luvulle mennessä. Rautatieaseman ja Perniönjoen välille sijoitettiin viljavarastot, mylly, meijeri ja teurastamo. Taajaman pohjoispuolelle Yliskylään rakennettiin 1970-luvulla kookas viljavarasto. Asemanseudun kauppaliikkeistä moni oli toiminnassa 1980-1990-luvulle asti.

Description
The Perniö station area is a small commercial cluster that grew around Perniö railway station in a prosperous agricultural district. It has survived well in its early 20th-century form. The grain stores, mill and dairy, together with the banks and shops, make up a station area that tells of the agricultural livelihood and trade of its construction period.
Closely placed side by side along the street line, shop buildings erected in different decades form an attractive shopping street about 250 metres long on the north side of the road. Ornamental trees have been planted in front of the shops. Among the mixed residential and commercial buildings of the commercial centre are the building from the 1910s that was a bank until 1953 and was evidently designed for that purpose, and the residential and commercial building from 1926 designed by architect Albert Richardtson. To the north of these stands the residential and commercial building (Kaunela) from 1924, which housed Perniö Yhteiskoulu until 1926. After that the building has been used, among other things, as a shop and a bank. On the south side of the road is the Jugend-style Valinta Seimari, designed by architect Alex Nyström in 1915, which operated as a shop until the 1990s. Banks have operated in the stone building from the 1950s and in the flat-roofed commercial building from the 1970s.
The most prominent feature of the station area's commercial centre is the co-operative store's grain warehouse at the end of the street, completed in 1927-1928, together with the local grain warehouse and mill building, which had its own loading platform beside the railway line. The Tukko grain warehouse dates from the 1930s. The co-operative dairy building from 1929 was altered in the 1950s and 1980s. On the south side of the road leading to the station is also the residential and slaughterhouse building completed in 1928, which has kept its construction-period appearance well.
The settlement has grown next to Perniö railway station, completed in 1899. The station, which in the early 2000s operated as a day-care centre, has a park, residential and outbuildings, and storehouses attached to it. Between the station and the commercial centre stands the track keeper's house. Today the railway runs past the west side of the station area.
North of the Perniö station area, in Yliskylä, beside the railway, stands a tall rendered grain silo from the 1970s, visible from far away across the open farmland landscape.
History
The Perniö station of the Turku–Helsinki railway was placed further north than the parish centre, in Paarskylä, partly at the wish of the owner of the Koski factory and Paarskylä manor. The line opened for traffic in 1899. A settlement began to develop around the station from the late 1890s, and the grain stores of the prosperous agricultural district were built in the station's vicinity. The oldest settlement in the station area was located beside the railway line, on the north side of the station.
Between the Perniönjoki river and the station, on the old Paarskylä village site, a commercial centre was built by the 1950s. Between the railway station and the Perniönjoki river were placed the grain stores, mill, dairy and slaughterhouse. In the 1970s a large grain warehouse was built to the north of the settlement, in Yliskylä. Many of the shops in the station area were in operation until the 1980s-1990s.
