Kuvaus
Muhoksen tukipilarikirkko vuodelta 1634 on vanhimpia käytössä olevia puukirkkojamme.
Muhoksen kirkko sijoittuu Oulujoen laakson valtakunnallisesti arvokkaalle maisema-alueelle.
Historia
Toinen kirkko rakennettiin Kirkkoniemeen.
Muhoksen järjestyksessään kolmas kirkko rakennettiin 1634 ja uudistettiin 1872 L.I. Lindqvistin johdolla. Sisäseinien ja holvin panelointi valmistui 1903. Kirkko sähköistettiin 1954. Samassa korjauksessa restauroitiin saarnastuoli ja poistettiin alttarilaite. Kirkko restauroitiin 1984 arkkitehtitoimisto Huusko & Teppo tekemien suunnitelmien mukaan.

Description
The Muhos buttressed church from 1634 is one of our oldest wooden churches still in use. The valuable wall paintings in the sacristy from the 1770s were painted by Emmanuel Granberg.
The Muhos church stands at the church village, on the southern bank of the Oulujoki river, which has widened into a lake-like reach at that point. The neo-Gothic features of the church with its west tower and the three-tier Ostrobothnian bell tower date from the renovation at the beginning of the 1870s. A old pine forest grows around the church.
The Muhos church is situated in the Oulujoki valley, a nationally valuable landscape area.
History
Muhos originally belonged to the Salo parish, from which it was transferred in 1477 as a chapel of Liminka, which had become independent. It was transferred to Oulu as a chapel in 1610, when Oulu separated as its own parish. The Muhos parish became independent in 1766. The first church was apparently built already in the 16th century on Kirkkosaari. The second church was built on Kirkkoniemi.
The third church in the sequence of Muhos churches was built in 1634 and renovated in 1872 under L.I. Lindqvist. The panelling of the interior walls and the vault was completed in 1903. The church was electrified in 1954. During the same repair the pulpit was restored and the altar fittings were removed. The church was restored in 1984 according to plans by the architectural office Huusko & Teppo.
