Kuvaus
Lapinlahden kirkon ympäristössä on säilynyt pieni saareke, joka edustaa hyvin pienen maalaiskunnan kehitysvaiheita 1800-luvun alkupuolelta lähtien.
Lapinlahden kirkonkylän vanhinta vaihetta edustavat pitäjän ensimmäisen, vuonna 1881 puretun kirkon vieritse kulkevan maantien varteen syntyneet rakennukset ja vanha rukoushuoneen aikainen hautausmaa. Hautausmaan eteläpäähän on lisätty viime sotien sankarihautausmaa. Vanhan kirkon paikkaa osoittaa 1951 pystytetty muistomerkki. Uudempi kirkko sijaitsee vanhan hautausmaan itäpuolella. Uudet tielinjat erottavat kirkonkylän vanhan alueen uudesta kirkonmäestä.
Lapinlahden nykyinen puukirkko on valmistunut 1880 maisemaa hallitsevalle mäelle. Itäpäädyssä on matala, keskilaivan levyinen sakaristo. Seinäpintoja jäsennöivät pareittain kahteen kerrokseen sijoitetut ikkunat. Julkisivut on koristeltu runsailla puuleikkauksilla, joista osalla on myös rakenteellista merkitystä. Keskilaivaa reunustavat kolmitaitteista kattoa ja lehtereitä kannattelevat pilarit.
Historia
Iisalmen emäseurakuntaan kuuluva Lapinlahti sai 1819 luvan rakentaa oman saarnahuoneen. Kirkon suunnittelija, arkkitehti F.A.
Rakennuksessa toimi kestikievari vuoteen 1916 saakka. Apula 1800-luvulta muutettiin kunnanlääkärin taloksi 1928 rakennusmestari M. Pitkäsen uusklassillisen suunnitelman mukaan.
Lapinlahden kirkon kunnostus toteutettiin 1955 arkkitehti Kauno S. Kallion piirustuksilla.

Description
In the surroundings of Lapinlahti church, a small enclave has survived which well represents the development stages of a very small rural municipality from the first half of the 19th century onward.
The oldest phase of the Lapinlahti church village is represented by the buildings that arose along the road running past the parish's first church, demolished in 1881, and by the old cemetery from the time of the prayer house. At the southern end of the cemetery, the heroes' cemetery of the most recent wars has been added. The public buildings on the old church road (Haapalaisentie) are the small mortuary in the cemetery wall and the large parish loan storehouse. The oldest buildings along the road are the farms of Mykkälä, Apula and Törmälä. The site of the old church is marked by a memorial erected in 1951. The newer church is located east of the old cemetery. New road lines separate the old area of the church village from the new church hill.
The present wooden church of Lapinlahti was completed in 1880 on a hill dominating the landscape. The roof of the transept, which joins the broad rectangular nave, sits lower than the roof of the nave. At the west end is a tall tower, with vestibules on either side. At the east end is a low sacristy, the width of the central aisle. Wall surfaces are articulated by windows arranged in pairs on two tiers. The façades are decorated with abundant woodcarvings, some of which also have structural significance. The central aisle is bordered by pillars that support the kolmitaitteinen roof and the galleries.
History
Lapinlahti, belonging to the mother parish of Iisalmi, received permission in 1819 to build its own preaching house. The preaching house was completed in 1826 but was demolished in 1881, after the new church was completed. The new church was built in 1877-1880 on the edge of the old church village, and the focus of building in the church village shifted to the church's surroundings. The church's designer, architect F.A. Sjöström, also designed the churches of Kitee and Kurkijoki and drew up the renovation plan for the church of Iisalmi.
The old cemetery of Lapinlahti from the prayer-house period went out of use in 1887. The cemetery's mortuary was completed in the 1840s, and the grain storehouse (lainajyvästö) in 1859. The oldest part of the main building of the Mykkälä farm was built in 1829, and the new tupapää in 1859. The building served as a kestikievari until 1916. Apula, from the 19th century, was converted into the municipal doctor's house in 1928 according to a neoclassical design by master builder M. Pitkänen.
The restoration of Lapinlahti church was carried out in 1955 to drawings by architect Kauno S. Kallio. At that time the church hall was paneled, the windows of the choir wall were closed, and the pews, pulpit and altar rail were renewed.
