Kuvaus
Talon pihassa on rakennustyyppinä harvinainen kaksikerroksinen 1700-luvun lopulla valmistunut syytinkitupa. Koskelan ja Mäki-Kahilan tilat ovat kylän etelälaidalla. Vanha Toisveden kansakoulu ja seuratalo sijaitsevat keskeisellä paikalla kyläkuvassa. Heikki Jartin suunnittelema koulu on vanhimpia kansakouluasetuksen perusteella rakennettuja maaseudun kansakouluja. Kyläkauppa Simola eli Virsula on perustettu 1901. Seuratalon rinteessä on ensimmäisen maailmansodan aikaisia maavarustuksia.
Historia

Description
Soininkylä, with its fields sloping down towards the waterways, has retained its building stock and represents the structure of a traditional farming village despite new construction and partial afforestation. The village has many old main buildings typical of their time and well preserved in antiquarian terms, as well as numerous traditional outbuildings in farmyards.
Soininkylä lies along the road from Virrat to Ostrobothnia, in an area bounded by Kahilanjärvi and Soinijoki, at the meeting point of waterways and cultivated fields. Small-scale settlement is concentrated on rolling terrain along the main road and the village roads branching off it.
The old kantatalo farms of Keski-Soini, Ala-Soini and Ylä-Soini and the mansard-roofed village shop stand on the highest point of the terrain. The handsome two-storey main buildings of Keski-Soini and Ala-Soini reflect the influence of Ostrobothnian building culture. The Ylä-Soini house, which once served as a court house, dates from the end of the 1790s. In its yard is a rare building type, a two-storey syytinkitupa completed at the end of the 18th century. The Koskela and Mäki-Kahila farms are on the southern edge of the village. The old Toisvesi kansakoulu and the seuratalo are in a central location in the village scene. The school designed by Heikki Jartti is one of the oldest rural kansakoulu schools built under the kansakouluasetus. The Simola or Virsula village shop was established in 1901. On the slope of the seuratalo there are earthworks from the First World War.
History
The forested areas of the northern parts of Virrat were for a long time the wilderness of the Tavastians and the people of Satakunta. Permanent settlement arose in the area in the 16th century, and village development gained momentum in the 19th century as roads improved and tar burning brought prosperity. Parent farms began to be divided and new crofts were formed. The fields, located in the uneven terrain, were small, and there were only a few farms in each village.
The lands of Soininkylä in Toisvesi were also settled during the 16th century, and Mäki-Kahila was mentioned in household registers in 1566. Ylä-Soini and Keski-Soini were separated from the Soini farm in the 1790s, and at around the same time the Kahila parent farm was also divided. Mäki-Kahila and Keski-Soini took turns keeping the coaching inn of Soininkylä, which was still in operation in 1910. On the bank of the Soininkoski rapids, which flow across the village, there was early domestic industry.
