Kuvaus
Jälleenrakennuskaudelta olevaan saharakennukseen liittyvän voima-aseman laitteisto on teollisuushistoriallisesti arvokas.
Maamerkkinä kohoava lautarakenteinen saha on valmistunut 1949 tulipalossa tuhoutuneen vanhan sahan paikalle. Kuivaamo ja höyläämö ovat 1950- ja 1969-lukujen vaihteesta.
Sahan asuinrakennuksista on jäljellä Ahtela, John Malmbergin suunnittelema klassistinen asuin- ja konttorirakennus on 1920-luvun lopulta, 1930-luvulla on rakennettu konttoripäällikön talo ja 1940-luvulla metsäkonttori.
Sahan lopetettua toimintansa on osa rakennuksista 1990-luvulla purettu, osa otettu uuteen käyttöön. Saha korkeine piippuineen on säilyttänyt hallitsevan asemansa kirkonkylän lahden ympäristössä.
Historia
Sahan toiminta loppui 1980-luvun puolimaissa.

Description
The building stock and machinery of the Kuhmoinen sawmill, shaped before the Second World War, during the post-war reconstruction period and after, is a significant part of our industrial history. Many large sawmills have been destroyed by fire, so the surviving Kuhmoinen sawmill is an important monument to the sawmill industry. The power plant equipment associated with the sawmill building from the reconstruction period is of significant industrial-historical value. In addition to the sawmill, the area had a harbour, a shipyard and a machine workshop.
On the bay at Kirkonkylä, on the shore of Päijänne, an industrial environment took shape between 1912 and 1985, and it has remained relatively unified and intact despite changes and renewal in the use of the area. The plank-built sawmill, rising as a landmark, was completed in 1949 on the site of the old sawmill destroyed by fire. The drying house and planing mill date from the turn of the 1950s and 1969s.
Of the sawmill's residential buildings, Ahtela survives, a classicist residential and office building designed by John Malmberg, dating from the late 1920s. The office manager's house was built in the 1930s, and the forestry office in the 1940s.
After the sawmill ceased operations, some of the buildings were demolished in the 1990s and others were put to new use. The sawmill, with its tall chimneys, has retained its dominant position around the bay at Kirkonkylä.
History
Kaarle Hirvansalo, owner of the Korppila farm, built a single-frame steam sawmill on his farm's land in 1912. Although the sawmill remained small even after changes of ownership, the harbour, shipyard and machine workshop operating in connection with it gave the place its industrial character. The sawmill was converted into a limited company in 1925 and has since operated under the name Kuhmoisten Saha Oy. The power source was a steam engine until 1980. The sawmill's operations ended in the mid-1980s.
