Kuvaus
Vareksen tilan Siikajokivarressa edustaa vaurasta pohjoispohjalaista talonpoikaisrakentamista 1800-luvun puolivälistä.
Molemmat asuinrakennukset on mainittu jo vuoden 1847 katselmuspöytäkirjassa.
Historia
Wareksen tila siirtyi Haapaveden Karhukankaalta tulleen Aapeli Koskelan omistukseen 1844.

Description
The Varas farm on the Siikajoki riverbank represents prosperous North Ostrobothnian peasant building from the mid-19th century.
The Varas farm is located on the western edge of the Siikajoki cultivated landscape, along the Rantsila-Mankila road close to the Rantsila church village. The farmyard, which is built on four sides, has two residential buildings and two long granaries. Both residential buildings are already mentioned in the inspection record of 1847. In addition, at that time there was a third residential building in the yard, on the site of the present sauna and storage building.
The cattle yard is on the western side of the residential yard, and the grain and food granaries are on the southern side of the residential yard. Outside the enclosed yard are a cowshed and granaries typical of the area, such as the two-storey, formerly drive-through isoluhti, a small poskellinen otsa-aitta and a jalka-aitta.
History
The Vares farm was probably settled by the mid-17th century, and by the end of the 19th century Vares had become one of the most prosperous farms in Rantsila and in the whole Siikajoki valley. Vares was one of the largest cattle farms in Rantsila, and the farm had its own Wareksen & Kumpp Woimeijeri at the gable end of the present stable building.
In the mid-19th century there were 21 different buildings in or near the farmyard, and every function had its own space. The fourth building of the Miespiha yard, in addition to three residential buildings, was a drive-through luhti.
The ancestors of Eero Yrjö Pehkonen (b. 1882), governor of Oulun lääni and state councillor, came from the Vares farm. Juho Wares-Pehkonen (b. 1799) had the large, brick main building of Pehkonen built at Ala-Temmes. The Vares farm passed to Aapeli Koskela, who had come from Karhukangas in Haapavesi, in 1844.
