The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Siuronmäki ja Siuronkosken ympäristö asuinalueineen, rautatieasemineen ja teollisuusrakennuksineen on yksi Ylä-Satakuntaan 1900-luvun alussa muodostuneista liikenteellisistä ja teollisista solmukohdista.

Koskivoiman partaalle kahden vilkkaan laivareitin ja rautatien yhtymäkohtaan rakentunut alue on asutus-, teollisuus- ja liikennehistoriallisesti poikkeuksellinen kokonaisuus.

Siuronmäki sijaitsee Siuronkosken partaalla Kuloveden rannassa. Paikalla, jossa Siuronkoski laskee Kuloveteen, on asuttu jo kivikaudella. Alueen pohjoispuolella on Suur-Pirkkalan mahtavin linnavuori, joka on varustettu kivivallein. Siuronkoski on ollut tärkeä hallinnollinen raja.

Siuronmäen tiheästi rakennettuun työväen asuntoalueeseen kuuluvat työnjohtajien asuinrakennukset vanhan Turun maantien varrella sekä jyrkällä kalliolle työläisten omatoimisen rakentamisen tuloksena syntyneet mökit. Nämä yhden perheen talot ovat sijoittuneet vapaasti mäen rinteille. Alueelle on 1900-luvun alussa rakennettu rukoushuone. Maisemallisesti kauniilla paikalla asutuksen laidalla, mäen juurella, on Siuron Tampere-Pori -radan asema ja sen monet rakennukset. Siuronkosken yli johtaa useassa vaiheessa rakennettu kuusiaukkoinen kivisilta.

Siuronkoski oli historiallinen myllynpaikka jo ainakin 1400-luvulla.

Rautatielinja Tampereelta Poriin valmistui vuonna 1895. Siuron rautatieasema rakennettiin samana vuonna mallipiirustusten mukaan V luokan asemaksi. Asemapäällikön jugendtyylinen asuinrakennus talousrakennuksineen rakennettiin 1908.

Siuronkosken edustalle, Suoniemen kunnan puolelle perustettiin 1895 Reposaaren saha, joka siirtyi 1908 Kuljun kartanon omistukseen. 1910 kartanon omistaja perusti myös Kuljun sahan. Puuhiomon Siuronkosken Suoniemen puolelle kartano oli perustanut jo 1904. Rakennusta laajennettiin 1930-luvulla ja se muutettiin voimalaitokseksi 1956. Valkoiseksi rapattu funktionalistinen valssimylly valmistui 1936.

Siuronmäki and the surrounding area of Siuronkoski, with its residential areas, railway station and industrial buildings, is one of the transport and industrial junctions that developed in Ylä-Satakunta at the beginning of the 20th century.

Built on the edge of the rapids at the junction of two busy shipping routes and a railway, the area is an exceptional whole in terms of settlement, industrial and transport history.

Siuronmäki lies on the edge of Siuronkoski on the shore of Kulovesi. At the point where Siuronkoski flows into Kulovesi, the site has been inhabited since the Stone Age. To the north of the area is Suur-Pirkkala's most imposing hillfort, which is fortified with stone ramparts. Siuronkoski has been an important administrative boundary.

The densely built working-class residential area of Siuronmäki includes residences of foremen along the old Turun maantie, as well as cottages built on the steep rock by workers through their own efforts. These single-family houses are scattered freely on the slopes of the hill. A prayer house was built in the area at the beginning of the 20th century. In a scenically beautiful location on the edge of the settlement, at the foot of the hill, is the Siuro station on the Tampere-Pori railway and its many buildings. Across Siuronkoski runs a six-span stone bridge, built in several stages.

Siuronkoski was a historic mill site as early as the 15th century.

The railway line from Tampere to Pori was completed in 1895. Siuro railway station was built the same year to standard drawings as a Class V station. The station master's Jugend-style residence, with its outbuildings, was built in 1908.

On the Suoniemi municipal side of the Siuronkoski rapids, the Reposaari sawmill was established in 1895. It passed to ownership of the Kulju manor in 1908. In 1910 the manor owner also founded the Kulju sawmill. The manor had already established a groundwood mill on the Suoniemi side of Siuronkoski in 1904. The building was extended in the 1930s and converted into a power station in 1956. The functionalist roller mill, rendered white, was completed in 1936.

The Siuronmäki residential area came into being under the influence of the Kulju, Grönfors and state sawmills, a pulp factory located on the rapids' shoreline, the railway, and shipping connections both to Kyröskoski and to Ikaalinen. The area was built up at the beginning of the 20th century without a plan, when the Haukkala house in Penttilä village leased land from Siuronkallio, and the Kulju manor, from the other side of the rapids, leased land for workers' housing.

In 1910 the prayer house association had a prayer house built on Siuron kallio, designed by master builder Heikki Tiitola. It was repaired and consecrated as a church in 1928.
