The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Haukkavuoren historiallinen rajapaikka).

Rautjärven pitäjän sisäisen liikenteen käytössä olleen Sarajärven tien osuus Simpeleen Melkoniemen tieltä Ruokolahden kunnan rajalle oli Innasennurkan tiehoitokunnan ylläpitämä kylätie. Kulkulaitosten ja yleisten töiden ministeriö määräsi tien paikallistieksi ja tielaitoksen ylläpidettäväksi 1961.

The Sarajärvi road is an excellent example of what Finland's roads were still largely like in the 1950s. The gravel-surfaced road has retained its traditional alignment and the character of an old village road, and it in turn reflects the history of road-building in Finland.

The road route runs from Kaljunen in Rautjärvi to Sarajärvi in the northern part of Ruokolahti, passing through small-scale cultivated fields, small groves and farms along the road, winding according to the terrain and property boundaries.

At Sarajärvi, close to the road, rises Haukkavuori, through which the borders of the Pähkinäsaari (1323), Täyssinä (1595) and Uusikaupunki (1721) peace treaties ran (see Haukkavuori historical border site).

The section of the Sarajärvi road that was used for internal traffic within Rautjärvi parish, running from the Melkoniemi road in Simpele to the boundary of Ruokolahti municipality, was a village road maintained by the Innasennurkka road maintenance association. In 1961 the Ministry of Communications and Public Works designated the road as a local road, to be maintained by the Finnish Road Administration.
