The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Hankalankosken pellavaloukku, ensimmäinen koneellinen pellavanpuhdistuslaitos, on tehdasrakennuksena lajissaan ainutlaatuinen.

Kosken kirkonkylän kaakkoispuolella virtaavan Hankalankosken partaalle 1800-luvun lopussa rakennetun koneellisen pellavanpuhdistamon lisäksi alueen rakennuskanta muodostuu entisestä johtajan asuinrakennuksesta, myllytuvasta ja aitasta.

Hämeenkoski ja Lammi olivat tärkeää pellavanviljelyaluetta. Tampereen pellavatehdas rakensi 1888 Hankalankosken partaalle ensimmäisen koneellisen pellavanpuhdistuslaitoksen. Tehdas lopetti toimintansa 1955.

The Hankalankoski pellavaloukku, the first mechanical flax-cleaning plant, is unique of its kind as a factory building.

In addition to the mechanical flax-cleaning works built at the end of the 19th century on the bank of the Hankalankoski rapids, which flow southeast of the Koski church village, the building stock of the area consists of a former manager's residence, a mill cottage and a granary storehouse.

Hämeenkoski and Lammi were important flax-growing areas. In 1888 the Tampere flax factory built the first mechanical flax-cleaning plant on the bank of the Hankalankoski rapids. The factory ceased operations in 1955.
