Kuvaus
Raision rautatieasema edustaa 1920-luvun asema-arkkitehtuuria, jonka yhtenäiseen klassistiseen kokonaisuuteen kuuluu asemarakennuksen lisäksi asuinkasarmi talousrakennuksineen.
Kaksikerroksinen asemarakennus vuodelta 1925 on I. Pladhanin suunnittelema. Mansardikattoinen asuntola sijaitsee aseman luoteispäässä talousrakennuksineen.
Historia
Uudenkaupungin valtuusto teetti kaupunkiin johtavasta rautatielinjasta suunnitelman, jonka mukaan rata kulki Raision kautta Turkuun. Aloite rautatiestä Uuteenkaupunkiin oli tehty jo 1890-luvun alussa, jolloin ratayhteys Turkuun olisi tullut pohjoisesta eli Raumalta tai Peipohjasta. Päätös radan rakentamisesta tehtiin 1909, työt aloitettiin 1917 ja rata Raisioon valmistui 1923. Sivuraide Raisiosta Naantaliin valmistui samana vuonna ja sillä on ollut merkitystä ennen kaikkea satamiin suuntautuneen tavaraliikenteen takia. Asemanseudulle sijoittui 1920-luvulta lähtien teollisuuslaitoksia, kuten 1942 perustetusta Oy Vehnä Ab:n myllystä kehittynyt Raisio Yhtymä.

Description
Raisio railway station represents station architecture of the 1920s. Its unified classicist ensemble includes, in addition to the station building, a residential barracks with outbuildings. The station is surrounded by an industrial building and illustrates the importance of railways for freight transport.
The station area is surrounded by an industrial zone and is bounded by the railway and by the Raisio Yhtymä factory area, which developed next to the station from the 1940s onward. The two-storey station building from 1925 was designed by I. Pladhan. The mansard-roofed dormitory is located at the north-west end of the station, with its outbuildings.
History
The Uusikaupunki city council commissioned a plan for the railway line leading to the town, according to which the track ran via Raisio to Turku. The initiative for a railway to Uusikaupunki had already been taken in the early 1890s, when the rail link to Turku would have come from the north, that is from Rauma or Peipohja. The decision to build the line was made in 1909, work began in 1917, and the line to Raisio was completed in 1923. The branch line from Raisio to Naantali was completed the same year and has been significant above all because of freight traffic bound for the ports. From the 1920s onward, industrial plants were located in the station area, including Raisio Yhtymä, which developed from the Oy Vehnä Ab mill founded in 1942.
