Wayne County, 1874: Lake Ontario to the Erie Canal

Trail composed by TreeAlive.

7 stops across New York.

Seven National Register places across Wayne County, from the lake villages of Pultneyville and Sodus Point to the Erie Canal at Palmyra, every one on the village and township plates of the 1874 Beers atlas of the county: the 1871 lighthouse at Sodus Point, the cobblestone farmhouse, schoolhouses and tavern at Sodus, Wallington and Butler, the Red Brick Church at Sodus Center, and the village districts at Pultneyville and Palmyra.

Turn the pages to see each stop on a map from its own era. Pins mark where the federal record places each listing, sometimes the center of an area rather than a street address.

The dashed line connects the stops in visiting order. It isn't a road route or the path anyone marched. Google Maps handles the driving, starting from wherever you are.
