Cook's Fort
Cook's Fort on Indian Creek was a strong defensive post. It covered over an acre of ground and sheltered 300 people during the Indian invasion in 1778. Near the fort several settlers were killed by the savages.
1937 text, presented as a historical document. It uses the period's terms for Native and Black people, and tells frontier history from the settler's side.
