World War Memorials
Two blocks east on Wythe Street begin the trees planted as memorials to Petersburg men who died in the World War. Each tree bears the name of a soldier. Wythe Street was first known as Weeks's Cut and on it, diagonally opposite this spot, stood ancient Weeks's Tavern.
