Sabine Hall

A mile and a half southeast is Sabine Hall, built in 1730 for Landon Carter, son of Robert ("King") Carter, and one of the noted colonial homes. In 1861, the estate passed to Elizabeth Carter, wife of Dr. Armistead N. Wellford.
