Fonthill
A mile and a half west is Fonthill, home of R. M. T. Hunter, United States Senator, Confederate Secretary of State, and Confederate Senator. The place was raided by Union troops in 1863. In 1865, Hunter was arrested here and taken off to captivity at Fort Pulaski.
