Chantilly
One mile beyond Stratford is Chantilly, the home of Richard Henry Lee, a leader in the American Revolution and the proposer of the Declaration of Independence. Lee moved there about 1764 and died there in 1794. The house, which was named for a chateau in France, was destroyed many years ago.
