Lee's Turn to Cold Harbor
Lee had his headquarters near here, May 27, 1864, while moving south from the North Anna River. Here Longstreet's (Anderson's) and Hill's corps of his army turned east to meet Grant at Cold Harbor, where a great battle was fought, June 3, 1864.
