The monument comprises the remains of a well-preserved medieval moated homestead. This is a small site, located on the floodplain of the River Solva. The moat is rectangular, measuring 25m by 21m, with the ditch 3m wide and up to 1m high. This is water-filled and fed by a stream entering at the north-east corner. The inner platform is raised and has the ruins of a rectangular stone buildings standing circa 1m high and measuring 10m by 5m in plan.
The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of medieval settlement. The monument is well preserved and is an important relic of the medieval landscape.
