Cadw's description

The following provides a general description of the Scheduled Ancient Monument.
The rectangular building to the W (I, 13.5 m x 6 m) is the most clearly defined. It is orientated E-W, and the E side has been sunk into the slope. The doorway was in the N wall.

9 m E of this building is another rectangular building of similar dimensions (II). The two structures are connected by a piece of walling. Building II is divided into two, the E part being the larger, and slightly higher, in section, than the W part. The walls of this building are mostly turf-covered.

A third building (III) lies 5.75 m N of II and is 9 m long x 4 m wide. The walls of this building are also largely turf-covered.

Associated field boundaries lie to the N and NE of the site.

The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of medieval settlement. It retains significant archaeological potential, with a strong probability of the presence of associated archaeological features and deposits. The structures themselves may be expected to contain archaeological information concerning chronology and building techniques.

The scheduled area comprises the remains described and areas around them within which related evidence may be expected to survive.
