Location
Lies just off the B4356, quarter of a mile south of Whitton village centre.
History
Late C18/early C19 house called "The New House" in 1802 marriage settlement, incorporates C17 wing of former dwelling.
Exterior
Two-storey main range, west cross wing with cellar, one-and-a-half storey kitchen extension to north. Coursed rubble with brick quoins, part rendered and part rebuilt in different stonework and brick, massive stone buttresses to east gable end. West wing is half-timbered with close studding some panels infilled with brick, diagonal bracing to north gable apex. Slate roofs, two brick ridge stacks to main block, brick end stack to kitchen wing. Tall squared rendered stone stack projects from west wing. Roof of wing heightened in brick and timber.
South front has brick cambered heads to modern picture windows, masonry blocked window to north gable of C17 wing and brick blocked cross window to west wall.
Outbuildings: Single storey range of rubble stone outbuildings with slate roof forms courtyard with kitchen wing - probably wash house, privy, fuel store etc.
Garage: Previously the stable; rubble stone, slate roof.
Interior
West wing has two ovolo-moulded beams.
Reason for designation
Included in the listing because of the C17 wing and its group value with the adjoining farm buildings.
