Cadw's description

On the SE side of the junction of Neath Road and Plas Road in the centre of Rhos.

Late C19 / early C20 finger post giving directions to Cilybebyll. Erected after the 1888 Local Government Act which gave responsibility for roads to each County Council.

Cast iron finger post with single arm. Plain post, banded black and white. Arm with raised border and finger outline and lettering ‘TO CIL-Y-BEBYLL / 1 MILE 1¼ FUR. Plain capital, post topped with hexagonal cap.

Included for its special architectural and historic interest as a well-preserved example of a late C19 / early C20 fingerpost, a type of street furniture once common but now increasingly rare.
