History
Mid C19 cast-iron milepost made by a Newtown Foundry marking turnpike road. The turnpike system in the area dates from c1768.
Exterior
Milepost, cast-iron, triangular plan with two lettered faces and sloping triangular top incised '?? Bros, Newtown'. Left side is marked 'Kerry 8-m/ Newtown 11-m with an arrow below, right side is marked 'Welshpool' with an arrow below and '8-m' below again.
