Located at the NE side of the country road leading SE from Rhos-y-gwaliau, down the Hirnant valley to Lake Vyrnwy; c. 0.5km SE of the hamlet of Rhos-y-gwaliau.

Probably mid to late C18 milestone, similar in style to dated examples in the county.

Flat faced boulder milestone, incised with lettering that reads: BALA / 21M / YVRNWY / 10M.

Listed as a well-preserved C18 milestone.
