Cadw's description

Located at the N end of a lay-by on the E side of the road. Set back from the road against a fence and surrounded by grass.

Probably C19 and associated with the turnpiking of this road.

A plain rectangular slate pillar with chamfered top angles. It is engraved 'Mach. / 5M' towards the top centre.

Listed for its special historical interest as a well-preserved milestone.
