Location
Situated at end of axis from centre of garden front through fountain and formal steps to SW of the mansion at Trawsgoed.
History
Later C19 ashlar bench in Renaissance style, probably part of the 1889-91 garden extension made by the 6th Earl of Lisburne, with the steps and terrace that it faces.
Exterior
Curved ashlar bench with carved winged lion ends, seat supported on an acanthus-carved low centre pier and curving back with moulded cornice and finely carved mirrored acanthus scrolls each side of centre lion-mask. Back is panelled in 2 long panels with moulded roundel to centre and half-roundel each end, the centre roundel with armorial shield.
Reason for designation
Included for group value with the mansion and as part of a later C19 formal garden layout.
