Cadw's description

Set at the E side of a country lane off a narrow road which leads ENE off the A496 at Pont Pen-y-sarn-hir. The range is to S of the farmhouse at Gwern Einion.

Early C19 pigsty and brewhouse range, contemporary with the adjacent farmhouse and annotated on the tithe map of the parish, 1849.

Lofted brewhouse with flanking gabled pigsty units; lean-to addition to L side of front gable of brewhouse and modern lean-to at NW corner built of profiled metal. Built of roughly coursed rubble masonry with large stones as quoins and lintels. Slate roofs of small slates laid to diminishing courses and tiled ridges; the brewhouse has a large stone stack with capping at the rear (E) gable. Entry to the brewhouse through a single doorway with large stone lintel to R of the front (W) gable, a single small window is to L over a later lean-to addition. Flanking pigsty ranges have rubble walls.

The interior could not be inspected at the time of the survey.

Included as a good pigsty and brewhouse range which forms a group with the adjacent contemporary farmhouse at Gwern Einion.
