History
C18 with some C19 external and internal details. The rear wing to St Mary Street, listed in 1976, is now described separately.
Interior
Within, No.2 has been altered for office use in later C20 but retains vestibule with barrel vaulted ceiling; glazed door and partition with stained glass; altered C19 staircase with turned newels and straight balusters; C19 door frames; some panelled shutters.
Reason for designation
One of two early C19 houses with well-preserved character and Group Value with adjacent listed buildings in Wheat Street and St Mary Street.
