Location
Near the end of the built-up section on the NW side of The Struet.
History
Group of buildings of more than one period. Early to mid C19 building at S end, and later C19 building to N.
Exterior
Group of buildings along line of The Struet. At S end, painted stone rubble block with slate roof which has very large loft with 4 windows flanked by large brick chimneys. Front elevation of three storeys and two bays with central doorway. Plaque (illegible) in centre on first floor, and fascia board. Dressed stone heads to window and door openings. Top-hung casement windows four panes wide on all floors. Modern door. A lower two-storey, two bay wing adjoins at N end; this also has painted rubble walls and slate roof; dressed stone heads to all openings except ground floor window. Inward opening windows three panes wide on first floor and one to left hand on ground floor; part-glazed door to R.
A continuation of this wing to N again, projecting from line of other buildings; two storeys; front wall of painted stone below and brick above projects forward. Slate roof. One square window at eaves level and, on ground floor, four small-pane sash windows and a doorway with cambered head.
Reason for designation
Interesting industrial survivor with Group Value with adjacent listed buildings.
