Cadw's description

On pavement on NE side of Mostyn Street between Vaughan Street and Church Walks.

Late C19 lamp standards; mainly restored in 1999/2000, generally with extended shafts.

Cast-iron lamp standards, similar to those on the Promenade, with circular shafts, ladder rests, and originally with lamp holders with lamp sockets, with finials supported on two sides by slender curved iron brackets rising from above the shafts. There are 2 designs of bases, either plain octagonal bases, or circular bases ornately decorated with bead and cable mouldings, foliage motifs and etc.

The lamp standards are sited as follows:
Outside No 1 Mostyn Street, with circular base, restored shaft and lampholder.
Outside Nos 9 and 11 Mostyn Street with circular base, restored shaft and lampholder.
Outside No 21,with circular base, restored shaft and lampholder.
Outside Nos 29 and 31 Mostyn Street with circular base, restored shaft, no lampholder.
Outside forecourt to St John’s Church with round base, restored shaft, no lampholder.
Outside No 65 Mostyn Street with circular base, restored shaft.
Outside No 1 St George’s Place with round base, restored shaft.
Outside No 81 Mostyn Street with round base, restored shaft.
Outside Northern end of No 107 with octagonal base, restored shaft.
Outside No 119 Mostyn Street round base, no shaft or lampholder.
Outside No 121 Mostyn Street with round base, restored shaft and no lampholder.
Outside Nos 127 and 129 with octagonal base, restored shaft and lampholder.
Outside Nos 145 Mostyn Street with round base, restored shaft and lampholder.

A group of C19 cast iron lamp standards which contribute to the character of Llandudno as a Victorian seaside resort.
