Cadw's description
Location
Sited at the main entrance of the driveway to Trefeilir; slightly set back from the NW side of the B4422, NE of Bethel.
History
The gate piers and flanking walls are said to be C18. The house at Trefeilir has C16 origins but is substantially of c1735, so it is possible that the gate piers are contemporary with this C18 building phase. The house formed the centre-piece of a small estate.
Exterior
Pair of square gate piers, rubble masonry with moulded capping and added pienapple finials. Flanking low walls each side ramped up to the piers.
Reason for designation
Listed as largely C18 gate piers, forming a significant component of the layout at Trefeilir.
