Cadw's description
Location
Immediately to NE of the farmhouse; attached to the cross range and linked by rubble wall to the coach house.
History
Probably built in 1890’s (not shown on 1889 OS map). Said to have been built by Michael King a mason from Dublin. Replaced the former horse engine in or near the barn and cartshed from where a drive shaft once connected with the farmhouse. This horse engine house operated the churn and pumped the water from the well in the farmyard.
Exterior
Coursed rubble gabled front with Gothic details to bellcote, with Ruabon Brick voussoirs and banding, and to central cusped lancet window with freestone surround. Camber arched doorway to left with voussoirs and boarded stable door. 2-bay king post roof to front part with loft accommodation for servant beyond.
Reason for designation
Group value with the farmhouse and farmyard ranges to N.
