Shown on 5 historical map sheets, the earliest the 1795 "To Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn Bart ... the map of the six counties of North Wales is most humbly inscribed by his obedient humble servant" (Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru – The National Library of Wales).
Cadw's description
Location
The cottage is set back from the road, S of the church and to the E of Ty'n-y-porth.
History
Probably built in the early C18.
Exterior
Built of rubble stone on boulder foundations, the walls limewashed. The roof is covered with old slates, with gable stacks with weather courses. Single storey. A boarded door flanked by small 4-pane sash windows to each elevation. A very small rooflight to the loft towards the left end of the roof slope. Some stones around the door project.
Reason for designation
Included as a very good and well preserved example of the smaller vernacular cottage - a type characteristic of NW Wales, and of group value in the nucleated village of Llangybi.
