Cadw's description
Location
In a row of houses fronting the street.
History
Part of a row of mid C19 houses first shown on the 1889 Ordnance Survey.
Exterior
Belongs to a group of 12-14 Crown Lane.
Nos 12 and 14 are 2 houses in a terrace of 4 single-fronted houses, of whitened pebble-dashed front, with smooth-rendered surrounds, and slate roof. No 14 at the L end is the best preserved. It has a replacement boarded door to the R under a gabled canopy on brackets. Hornless sash windows are 12-pane sashes in the lower storey, 9-pane above, in architraves. No 12 has a replacement panel door with overlight to the R in a gabled surround. Windows are replaced in original openings.
Interior
Not inspected.
Reason for designation
Listed, notwithstanding window replacement, for its special architectural interest as a modest mid C19 town house, and for its contribution to the historical townscape.
