Cadw's description
Location
Prominently located in the centre of the village and carrying the main road over the Afon Conwy.
History
Large C17 or C18 2-span road bridge.
Exterior
Of rubble construction, with full-height central cutwaters to upstream and downstream sides; the bridge has been doubled in width to S. Segmental arches of equal size (each of roughly 8m) with roughly-dressed voussoirs slightly recessed below archrings formed of narrow stones. Long approaches, splayed outwards slightly at the ends, with slab-coped rubble parapets rising gently at the bridge's apex; triangular refuges over cutwaters on each side.
Reason for designation
Included at Grade II* as a particularly fine 2-span bridge of sub-medieval character.
