Location
In the centre of the Community in an area of contemporary housing and about 100m north of the Church of St. Mary of the Angels.
History
This letter box is the V R standard cylindrical design which was current from 1887-1901. This particular one was probably sited in c1890 when the street was being developed. There is another one nearby in Lansdowne Road, Canton (qv).
Exterior
Cast iron cylindrical pillar box with V R monogram which is also marked in relief lettering Handyside and Co. Derby and London.
Reason for designation
Included for its special interest as an increasingly rare late Victorian letter box.
