Location
At north of road in centre of Rhuallt Village. Front garden with ornamental C19 gates rehung in a modern stone wall.
History
Probably mid C18 farmhouse, now a private house. The rear extension abuts the main range of the house at a straight joint, and was probably rebuilt or added in the C19; the sash windows of the front are also C19.
Exterior
A three storey, three window house built in local stone, with a lean-to addition at rear partly in stone and partly in brickwork, all whitewashed. Roof of unusually small slates; end chimneys in brickwork. The chimney at right projects externally, having served the original kitchen; offsets at top.
Replaced frames in top window openings. The door and window openings of the ground and first storey have segmental arches; four-paned sash-windows in exposed frames, but with C19 sashes; front door with overlight.
The main range of the house is blind-backed above the rear extension; the latter has three casement windows and two doors.
Interior
Staircase from ground to second floor with turned balusters. Original four-panel doors to each of the main rooms on ground and first floors. The original kitchen fireplace arch is said to survive, concealed, and to consist of stone voussoirs.
Reason for designation
An C18 farmhouse which notwithstanding minor alterations has retained its historic character.
