In the lower part of Bank Street opposite the island bank complex off Beaufort Square
History
An early C19 frontage to or adjoining an earlier building, shown by the corbelled corner, with later C19 shopfront. Formerly an inn, the Lamb and Flag, 1766-1817, also The Wheatsheaf. Jones Electric Picture Palace, with the same owner, formerly adjacent.
Exterior
Georgian townhouse with ground floor shop, attached at each side. Walls of stuccoed rubble; slate roof with rubble end stack right and tall brick stackleft.. Double-fronted. Three storeys; black-painted platbands to first and second floor, eaves cornice and quoin strip. Three-window range of 4/pane sashes. Plate glass shop front to left with panelled pilasters and acanthus decorated consoles; single ground floor sash to right. Central similarly enriched doorway is set back up 2 stone steps. Side downhill elevation of unrendered stone is corbelled out at first floor level

Listed as a Georgian house/shop, part of the continuous listed range of lower Bank Street. Group value also with listed buildings in Beaufort Square.
