Cadw's description
Location
Located to the W of Ty Isa Trofarth, closing a farmyard to the W.
Exterior
Large early (?) C18 barn with later, C19 lean-to additions to the R and rear. Of whitened rubble construction with slated roof of old small slates. Central primary entrance to the farmyard side (W) via a contemporary stone-stepped plinth. This retains its original pegged oak frame and old boarded doors with exposed timber lintel; above this is a recessed plaque, though its date (or inscription) is illegible. Tall entrance to far L, with boarding above. To the R of the primary entrance is a rectangular modern window with boarded stable door beyond; 2 vent slits under the eaves above. A modern lean-to addition adjoins to the rear at L. To the R, on the main front, is a later lean-to addition, flush with the primary block. This has small slates, as before, and a low boarded entrance. It continues around the back of the barn with hipped corner and extends to half the barn's length to the rear. Here there is a further boarded door with a small open 2-light window with mullion to the L. The S side has 2 slatted windows and a wooden shuttered window under the low eaves. In the gable apex, above, are 3 vent slits.
Interior
The interior was not inspected at the time of survey.
