Cadw's description

Situated on the W side of the A487 in the centre of Llanon, approximately 80m S of the Central Hotel by the house called 'Mile End'.

Early C19 milestone on the Cardigan to Aberystwyth road. Turnpike trust formed 1770.

Freestanding white-painted milestone with curved top, approximately 80cm high by 40cm wide by 20cm deep. Inscription reads

ABERYSTWYTH

The word 'ABERYSTWYTH' is inscribed following the curved top of the milestone.

Included as an historically interesting relic of transport history in the area.
