Cadw's description

Located in the road verge, approximately 100m west of the driveway to Rhôs fawr farm.

History: A milestone erected by a Montgomeryshire Turnpike Trust, probably in the later C18, on the road from Llanfair Caereinion to Welshpool.

Description: A sandstone pillar with slightly tapering sides and rounded top (damaged), inscribed with well cut elegant lettering reading:
To / POOL / 6 / Mile / Llnfair / 1.

Included as a good example of an inscribed milestone surviving from the early turnpiking of the road.
