Milestone, late C18.
Exterior
Tapered stone pillar with gabled top. Lettering originally inscribed, now over painted, reading "Pool 6/Oswestry 9/". One of a series of mile markers probably erected after the Montgomeryshire Tunrpike Act of 1756.
Reason for designation
This milestone, together with others along the A483 and B4392, are significant historical survivals from the century of road construction and maintenance in Mid Wales after c.1750.
